We didn't build Lake House Retreat to fill rooms. We built it because the best vacations don't happen on an itinerary — they happen when you stop checking things off and start noticing things. The way light moves across the water at 6 a.m. The sound of crickets when the generator shuts off. The silence that isn't empty, just full of the right kind of air.
Floor-to-ceiling windows face the lake. Morning coffee here isn't a ritual — it's the whole point of the morning. King bed, en-suite with rainfall shower, and a sitting nook that doubles as a reading corner.
Named for the longleaf pines that frame its windows, this room draws the outdoors in. Queen bed, desk for the work-from-lake session, and a compact wet bar for evening drinks by the fire.
The heart of the retreat. A chef's kitchen, a dining table that seats six, and a stone fireplace that turns a cool Florida evening into something you'll remember. This is where the trip actually happens.
Rod and reel provided. Bass, bream, catfish — the lake doesn't keep secrets from patient people.
The water is clearest before the world wakes up. Bring a book. Stay as long as you want.
Five miles of marked woodland paths through live oak and saw palmetto. Wild hogs, armadillos, the occasional gopher tortoise.
No light pollution. No noise. Just the sky doing what it does best, and whatever you've been meaning to think about.
The kitchen is fully equipped for the kind of meals that require more time than a Tuesday night allows.
